Revitalizing downtown is all the rage in Las Vegas, and for good reason. Improving the area’s fortunes will go a long way toward expanding the economic recovery of Las Vegas and enhancing the quality of life for all Las Vegas residents.
The revitalization effort is intended to do more than just bring in new businesses and new commerce to the area. Some of the effort is geared toward developing an urban lifestyle in that part of the city, one in which people live where they work and are able to conduct nearly all their activities in that vicinity. Part of the urban lifestyle includes housing near the downtown area.
Just a few blocks down Fremont street from where most of the new businesses are popping up are the Fremont Lofts. As with the other downtown projects, this one is quite unique, with many distinctive design elements. Cooper Roofing & Solar is playing a large part in making it come together.
Cooper is installing not only the roofs but the metal siding, walking decks and gutters as well. We’re even putting up the metal fencing around each unit’s back yard.
The Fremont Lofts present quite a few challenges. The walls are greater than 30’ high and the metal wall panels are continuous from top to bottom. Installing the 30+-feet high panels requires more than just skill, planning and preparation but the use of heavy equipment to help move the panels in place.
On the interior roofs above the outside units, which can’t really be called flat roofs because some of them are fairly steep, we install Duro-Last single-ply. The standing seam metal roofing on the exterior pitched roofs enhances the feel of the buildings’ exteriors.
The Fremont Lofts are another distinctive downtown project and another step in revitalizing downtown Las Vegas.
Stay tuned to this site for much more on this project in the coming weeks.
