The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

The 2016 Christmas party was once again a most wonderful time for the Cooper Roofing & Solar family!

We had fantastic food from Fox Smokehouse BBQ, excellent raffle prizes from the best suppliers in the business and a whole lot of fun, smiling faces and laughs. The party was a fitting way to top off 2016, another great year for Cooper Roofing & Solar.

Settling into a New Home

As the construction industry in Nevada has grown, so have we. We recently began to look for a new home to better accommodate the Cooper Roofing & Solar family and better serve our customers. And we found one!

So we packed up all of our things and moved to a brand new office, yard and shop. Not exactly brand new, but brand new to us.

Our new home should allow us to improve the service we offer our customers. It contains considerably more space for our trucks, machines and equipment. And even some room to grow.

We will continue to serve our customers with our in-house sheet metal shop. This piece of our business cuts down on waiting times for this vital element in the roofing process as well as allows us to fill customized orders our competitors can’t match!

Welcome to our new home and to this new chapter of Cooper Roofing & Solar.

Lend a Hand This #GivingTuesday

The first Tuesday following Thanksgiving has been dubbed #GivingTuesday.

It’s a day to honor what the holidays should be all about – helping others and giving back. #GivingTuesday is a day to make a special contribution to those organizations that help in our community.

When you’re deciding where you should direct your contribution, we hope you would consider one or more of the very worthy charitable organizations that we support.

These include Habitat for Humanity, HomeAid Southern Nevada, Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada, Project 150 and St. Jude’s Ranch.

Giving back to the communities that have helped us to be successful is one of the foundations of the Cooper Roofing & Solar family. We hope you are able to lend a hand this #GivingTuesday.

New Addition to the Family

2016-10-11-new-equipmentWe welcome a new addition to the Cooper Roofing & Solar family – our new conveyor truck!

This nice, shiny blue wonder will go a long way toward helping us exceed our customers’ expectations!

In addition to that it will help us to remain the best-equipped roofing company in Las Vegas.

But being the best-equipped isn’t just a matter of pride or a subject of bragging rights. It’s a sign of our commitment to our customers and to our employees.

Cooper Roofing & Solar is willing to make the investments in equipment that improve our efficiency and performance, as well as provide the safest workplace possible for our people. When we talk about equipment, those commitments to our customers and our employers are what we’re really proud of.

Congratulations to our July Safety Awards Winners

At Cooper Roofing & Solar, safety is more than just a word.

Roofing, by its very nature, can be an inherently dangerous activity. The vast majority of the work that we do occurs at double-digit heights. We also work with sharp tools and powerful equipment.

We are committed to making the investments and supplying the proper Personal Protective Equipment to allow our people to work safely. But the tools are only part of the story. The proper knowledge, training and dedication to safety are essential in everything that we do. The mental aspects of safety are every bit as important as the physical.

That’s why Cooper Roofing & Solar, with the help of World Wide Safety, some time ago implemented a Safety Awards program. We sought to recognize those crews who have demonstrated the proper commitment to working safely.

July’s Safety Award Winners are:

Loading – Juan Garcia & Crew
Dry-in – Luis Vargas & Crew
Tile – Rolando Solorzano & Crew

Congratulations to all the winners!

Target Homelessness: Right on Target

3Target Homelessness 2016The biggest and best yet, the 3rd Annual Target Homelessness, once again was right on target!

Benefiting HomeAid Southern Nevada and the Nevada Subcontractors Association (NSA), Target Homelessness is held at the Pro Gun Club on Old U.S. Highway 95 in Boulder City. The event not only helps out two wonderful causes but also provides home builders, subcontractors and suppliers with a chance to have a whole lot of fun, too!

Cooper Roofing & Solar took full advantage!

We fielded four teams to compete in the event, including giving a couple of our people their first opportunity to shoot sporting clays. We even had a couple raffle prize winners among our teams. It was an excellent time for everyone involved and another chance to give back to the community.

Proceeds from the event go to help HomeAid Southern Nevada and the NSA aid the community through housing and community outreach.

HomeAid Southern builds “new lives for Southern Nevada’s homeless through housing and community outreach. We carry out this mission through care days, education and awareness in the community and shelter projects.”

The NSA works “support the educational, charitable, and political interests of construction subcontractors in the State of Nevada.”

Cooper Roofing & Solar proudly supports the great work of both these organizations, outside of Target Homelessness as well.

Cooper Roofing & Solar has participated in all three Target Homelessness events. Each year turnout, fundraising and the level of fun have far exceeded the previous year. We can’t wait for next year!

Cooper Roofing Earns Trade Partner of the Month from Lennar!

2016-02-19 Lennar Contractor of the MonthCongratulations to the Cooper Roofing & Solar family! We were named Trade Partner of the Month by Lennar.

Great work, everyone!

Thanks, Lennar!

Cooper Roofing & Solar: 2015; Nothing We Can’t Do!

2015 was another fantastic year for Cooper Roofing & Solar! We worked all over Nevada, from the farthest tip of Southern Nevada north to Reno, even over the hump in Pahrump! From commercial to residential to custom homes we covered with solar, single-ply, metal roofing & siding, waterproofing, gutters, roof coatings, decks, shingles and, of course, no one installs more tile than we do. Our safety program won prestigious awards. Even with all the hard work, laughter and fun were always on the menu.

Powering the Foundation for Success

NPHY8Giving back to the communities that have helped make our success possible is one of the guiding principles of Cooper Roofing & Solar.

As one piece of this commitment to giving back, we participated in the expansion of the Drop-In Center for the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, part of a six-figure in-kind donation of construction labor and materials provided by local contractors and suppliers through HomeAid Southern Nevada. We recently completed the installation of a new solar system for the Drop-In Center as part of this project.

The Drop-In Center is an essential part of the mission of NPHY.

The Drop-In Center is NPHY’s hub, serving as an entry point to all of NPHY’s programs and a connector to our community’s full range of services for homeless youth. For many homeless youth, walking through the doors of NPHY’s Drop-In Center is their first, crucial step beyond the streets.

NPHY’s Drop-In Center provides homeless youth, ages 12 – 21, with immediate needs services while linking them to the resources they need to ultimately become independent. Our Drop-In Center provides respite from the streets and first meets homeless youths’ basic needs by providing them with food, clothing, hygiene supplies, haircuts, bus passes, calling cards, and other survival supplies. Only once homeless youths’ basic needs are met are they often able to turn from “survival mode” and begin focusing on the future.

In an earlier phase of the project, discussed in Topping Off the Foundation for Success, Cooper Roofing & Solar provided a new roof, removing the existing roofing system and installing a new one, with tile donated by Boral Roofing. During this portion of the project we also removed the solar system from the existing building to allow for other necessary construction and remodeling work to be completed. The new solar system will allow NPHY to save money on its utilities so it can devote more of its resources to providing vital services to our community and our youth.

The expansion of the NPHY Drop-in Center was part of HomeAid Southern Nevada’s commitment to building new lives for the homeless in Southern Nevada through housing and community outreach. The bulk of this upgrade was completed earlier in 2015 with NPHY hosting a block party to commemorate the event. Cooper Roofing & Solar president Scott Donnelly currently serves as Vice President for HomeAid Southern Nevada.

We are extremely gratified to have been able to be a part of the expansion of the Drop-In Center, which will allow NPHY to continue and expand upon the essential role it plays in our community.

Cooper Roofing & Solar Named Nevada Subcontractors Association’s Safest Member

NSA Safety Award 2We are extremely honored to have been named winner of the 2015 Nevada Subcontractors Association’s Safest Member Award!

This award is a testament of the efforts of the members of the Cooper Roofing & Solar family to embody the commitment to the highest standards safety in the industry.

At Cooper Roofing & Solar we invest a tremendous amount of resources to ensure a safe workplace for our employees. But no matter the amount of time and money we expend on research, training and equipment, safety comes down to the actions of the individuals on the jobsite – their awareness, focus and dedication to doing the right thing.

Receiving recognition such as the NSA’s Safest Member of 2015 Award for those efforts is evidence that our people are committed to working the right way.

NSA Safety Award 1The NSA is the largest and most active organization representing the interests of construction subcontractors and suppliers in the state of Nevada. The organization consists of more than 100 member companies, firms that comprise the elite companies in the industry.

In addition, the criteria for the award focused on the results of field inspections by the NSA Safety Committee. So the award was determined by the actual performance of the workers in the field. The status of the NSA plus the criteria upon which the award was based make this award extremely prestigious and we know that we faced outstanding competition.

Thank you to the NSA for honoring us with this award. And to all the members of the Cooper Roofing & Solar family whose hard work and commitment made this possible we say, “Thank you” and “Keep up the great work!”
