The housing market recovery in Las Vegas has begun to hit its stride and the trend is looking up. Local home builders sold more homes and pulled more permits in 2016 than the previous year. Last year brought more good news for the industry as well.
Two master-planned communities in the Las Vegas Valley were among the top 10 nationally for home sales last year, a new report shows.
Builders sold 769 new homes in Summerlin in 2016, up 28 percent from 2015. Buyers also picked up 564 new homes in Inspirada, up 45 percent, according to real estate consulting firm RCLCO.
Among U.S. master-planned communities — sprawling projects with housing, parks and other components — Summerlin was No. 5 for new-home sales and Inspirada was No. 7.
Cooper Roofing & Solar is helping bring this recovery to life! Our people are helping to build new homes in both of these communities – providing exciting new homes for Nevada families and helping to keep our economy moving.
We recently completed work on a new model complex in Inspirada, which is located at the south end of the Las Vegas valley in the city of Henderson. Some of our crews are shown installing tile on these models in some of the pictures below.
The story of Inspirada is emblematic of the housing market in Las Vegas over the last decade and a half. The land was originally purchased at auction in 2004 and developers broke ground in 2006.
But the downturn hit the Las Vegas area soon after and sales and construction at Inspirada started slowly. But since 2014, the master plan at the south end of the valley has been making a comeback, and our people are doing their part to make it happen.
